FID (Flexible Instruction Days) Letter

The Pennsylvania Department of Education recently approved the Scranton School District’s application to participate in Pennsylvania’s new flexible instructional program. The Scranton School District’s flexible instructional program will be a combination of online and offline assignments. The Scranton School District plans to implement flexible
instructional days (FIDs) during a snowstorm, poor road conditions, extreme cold weather or other situations in which one or more school buildings must be closed due to an unplanned circumstance. These types of closures, however, will not automatically become flexible instructional days. The district will determine whether a flexible instructional day will be called on a case-by-case basis. The Scranton School District may use no more than five (5) flexible instructional days per school year.

Parents, please use the link to request district technology for your child. If your child already has access to a laptop or a chromebook, they are not required to use a district device. At this time, only one chromebook per family is available. As more chromebooks are received in the district throughout the fall, all students will have access to a device. Only complete the request form if your family is in need of a device. Thank you.

Gracias.

A-TSI School Improvemet Plan

The Pennsylvania Department of Education, remaining consistent with ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) identified A-TSI (Additional Targeted Support and Improvement) schools based on standards set forth with regard to achievement and growth in both ELA and Math as well as attendance standards. Isaac Tripp Elementary was identified as an A-TSI school based on achievement in Math and ELA (combined); growth in Math and ELA (combined); and regular attendance. The cut scores and results reported were as follows:
Achievement: Math and ELA combined - cut score at or below 31.5%; ITE = 12.9%
Growth: Math and ELA combined - cut score below -1.0 PVAAS; ITE = -1.03
Regular Attendance: cut score at or below 76.12%; ITE = 67.88%

Attached you will find our approach to improving upon each of these areas as documented through our A-TSI School Improvement Plan. Parents/guardians, students, faculty/staff, community leaders/partners worked collaboratively to generate the plan. Please take some time to review our A-TSI School Improvement Plan. Thank you in advance for your continued support.
